Chris Aliano begins his first year at Bryant University, serving as an Athletic Communications Assistant. He is the primary contact for the men's and women's soccer team, the field hockey team, the women's basketball team, the men's and women's tennis team and the softball team.
In addition to his sports information duties, Aliano assists with the publicity of Bryant's athletic teams, helping create media guides, press releases, game programs, brochures and other publications and also helps with website design and content. He also helps updates the official Bryant Athletics Twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts.
Aliano graduated from Boston University in May of 2011 with a degree in broadcast journalism. While at BU, he spent three years as a member of the sports department of the student-run radio station, WTBU Sports. During his tenure at WTBU, Aliano served as sports director as well as the beat writer for the men's ice hockey team. He oversaw and coordinated the print, radio broadcasting and multimedia coverage of 20 Boston University Athletics teams, and provided play-by-play commentary for the men's and women's ice hockey teams and the softball team.
He also was a three-year member of the Boston University Alpine Ski Racing Team, serving as vice president during the winter of 2011, and provided play-by-play commentary and PA announcing with fellow broadcaster Nicky Holden at regular season and postseason races, including the USCSA National Championships in Sunday River, Maine, and Sun Valley, Idaho.
Also prior to joining the Bulldogs, Aliano spent a summer with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League, where he was the play-by-play voice of the Gatemen during the 2010 season. Other duties with the Gatemen included writing game notes, recaps and player features, as well as updating the team's social media accounts throughout the season.
A native of Hawthorne, N.J., Aliano is a member of CoSIDA and Sportscasters Talent Agency of America (STAA), and currently resides in Smithfield, R.I.
