1966-67 Men's Basketball

The 1966-67 men's basketball team, coached by Tom Duffy, featured all-time scoring leader and Hall of Famer Tom Smile, Don Gray and George Yates.  The team posted a 22-2 overall record - including a 20-0 regular season record and a Naismith Conference Championship and advanced to the NAIA District 32 national tournament.   The team played their home games at Hope High School in Providence, Rhode Island, where they grew to become one of the best small-college teams in the nation.

Smile, a Pawtucket native, had a storybook winter that season, becoming the first player in Bryant history to score 2,000 points. His 2,390 career points are still a school record. Smile was one of four players on the team to be inducted into the Bryant Hall of Fame, which also includes Head Coach Tom Duffy.  Duffy compiled a 70-22 record in the four seasons he spent coaching Bryant.
