Lori Mahler was part of the successful Bryant women’s basketball teams in the late 1980’s that helped set the groundwork for the success of the program today. A four year standout, Mahler completed her career as one of the top scorers in the Northeast-10 Conference, finishing with 1,038 career points. As a senior, she was named to four Norheast-10
Conference honor rolls and recognized as the Division II ECAC Player of the Week that same year.
With Mahler running the Bryant offense, the Bulldogs qualified for back-to-back NCAA tournament championships and captured two Northeast-10 Conference tournament titles along the way for coach Ralph Tomasso.
During her final season playing at Bryant, she averaged 19.7 points per game. She missed two games due to injury, but upon her return she tied a school record with 35 points against Saint Anselm.
During her four-year career, Bryant posted a record of 76-40. After graduating, Mahler played for the Hoy-o-breten women’s basketball team of Oslo, Norway, one of the top teams in the Division I national women’s league.
