Zash was a four-year member of the MLL's Philadelphia Barrage before joining the Lizards, collecting five goals and four assists with 138 ground balls in 39 games played in the midfield, helping lead the Barrage to back-to-back league championships in 2006 and 2007. His success continues through the indoor game, where he has played for the New York Titans since 2007, totaling six goals and eight assists in 23 games. In November, Zash was named to the 23-man U.S. Men's National Team official roster, and the team — coached by Pressler — is set to compete at the 2010 World Championships in Manchester, England in the summer of 2010. Zash was also a member of the 2007 Bronze Medalist U.S. National Indoor team.

Before elavating his game to the professional ranks, Zash was a two-time All-American at Duke, where he started all 54 games in which he appeared. A team captain as a junior and senior, he earned Team MVP honors in 2004 and 2005, finishing his collegiate career with 56 goals and 31 assists. A career .500 faceoff man (102-for-204) and midfielder for the Blue Devils, Zash was twice named an All-ACC selection and earned NCAA all-tournament team honors in 2005 after leading Duke to a national championship appearance.

Before attending Duke, Zash captained the gold medal-winning Team USA at the 2003 International Lacrosse Federation U-19 World Championship in Baltimore, Md.

A Massapequa, N.Y. native, Zash was an ACC Academic Honor Roll selection and graduated from Duke University in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in economics. He received his master's degree in physical education from Hofstra in August 2008.
