Bryant University Earns First Northeast-10 President's Cup

South Easton, Mass. – Bryant College has claimed its first ever Northeast-10 Conference Presidents’ Cup as announced by Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner David Brunk.
“I congratulate the entire athletic program at Bryant College,” said Brunk. “Bryant has enjoyed a remarkable season of success and their award is a tribute to the commitment and dedication of their entire staff and their student-athletes.”
Bryant finished first overall in women’s competition and was second in men’s competition. The Bulldogs compiled a combined total of 173.5 points including 97 points in the women’s standings.
The Bulldogs earned top marks finishing as regular season champions in field hockey, volleyball, and women’s tennis. Bryant was crowned NE-10 tournament champions in volleyball, men’s golf, and women’s tennis.
Bryant finished second in the President’s Cup standing each of the last two years to Bentley College. Prior to the last two years, Bryant had not finished in the top three since 1988 and 1989.
Bentley finished second overall posting 169 points and were first overall in men’s competition with 86.5 points and second in women’s competition with 82.5 points. It was just the second second-place finish for the Falcons program in the last nine years, having won the Cup seven of the previous eight years.
Along with Bryant and Bentley, the top five finishers in the President’s Cup standings included the University of Massachusetts, Lowell (128), Southern Connecticut State University (119.5) and Stonehill College (115).
The Presidents’ Cup is presented annually to signify overall athletic excellence in the Northeast-10 Conference and is awarded to the institution that compiles the most points based on the placement of each of its programs which compete in league championships. Points for men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s swimming & diving, men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track & field and men’s golf are awarded based on placement in respective conference championships.
