MEN’S BASKETBALL (17-6, 13-6 NE-10)
Bulldogs Stretch Win-Streak To 10 Games;
Bulldogs Travel To Saint Michael’s Tuesday and No. 1 Bentley Saturday
The Bryant men’s basketball team improved its win-streak to 10-straight with an impressive 76-63 win over No. 24 Saint Anselm Saturday at the Chace Athletic Center. It was the final regular-season home game for the Bulldogs as Mario Correia (Brockton, Mass.) turned in a fine performance, scoring a career-high 28 points while John Williams (Springfield, Mass.) had 21 including five three-point field goals. Both John Williams and Correia each combined to make nine of Bryant’s 12 three-pointers in the game. Correia was 11-for-20 from the floor and added eight rebounds. Mike Williams (Ellington, Conn.) moved up in the Bryant career standings over the weekend. Already third all-time with 890 career rebounds and first with 271 blocks, the senior center moved into 15th all-time with 1,176 career points. Bryant will travel to Saint Michaels, Bentley, and Merrimack to wrap up the regular season before the Northeast-10 Conference tournament begins on Saturday, Feb. 26. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 6 in the Northeast Region and in sixth-place in the Northeast-10 standings, a half-game behind fifth-place Southern N.H. and one game out of a three-way log jam for second that has Saint Anselm, Stonehill, and Saint Rose all tied at 14-5.

Bulldogs Defeat Saint Anselm on Senior Day
Guard Dede Fogarty (Middletown, Conn.) made the best of Senior Day on Saturday as the fourth-year Bulldog scored 20 points and handed out four assists to help lead the Bryant women’s basketball team to its third-straight win on Saturday, 72-57 over Saint Anselm. Fellow senior Jessie Weber (Norwell, Mass.) poured in a career-high 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor and also added three assists as the Bulldogs head into the week in sixth-place in the Northeast-10 Conference standings. Bryant, ranked 9th in last week’s Northeast Regional poll, will travel to Saint Michael’s and Bentley this week before wrapping up the regular season next week at first-place Merrimack. The NE-10 tournament will start on Sunday, Feb. 27.
INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
Team Heads to NE-10 Championships Friday
The Bryant men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams took part in the Tufts University Stampede on Saturday in the final tuneup for Friday's Northeast-10 Conference Championships in New Haven, Conn. Sophomore Hafiz Greigre (Attleboro, Mass.) took home first place honors in the men's 55 meters while teammate Dallas Lynch (Wayne, N.J.) won the men's triple jump Jessica Cegarra (Danville, N.H.) earned a second-place finish in the women's shot put. Greigre, who placed second in the men's 200 meters in 23.04, ran the top time in the 55 meter prelims in 6.65, ran a personal-best 6.53 to edge teammate Daniel Kwarteng (Worcester, Mass.) for first place. Kwarteng was second in the 55 meter finals in 6.62 seconds. Kwarteng also placed seventh in the men's high jump, clearing 5 feet, 9.75 inches and would later earn a fourth-place finish in the men's long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 4.25 inches - just three-quarters of an inch from a personal best. Lynch took ninth in the long jump (19-7) but would later make up for it with a first-place finish in the triple jump, clearing a new personal-best of 44 feet, 10.75 inches, nearly four inches better than second-place Fred Jones of Tufts who cleared 44-6.75. On the women's side, senior Michelle Morris (Windsor, Conn.) was fifth in the women's finals of the 55 meter dash. After qualifying with a personal-best time of 7.74 seconds in the prelims, Morris bettered that mark with a time of 7.73 in the finals. She would later take 11th in the women's 200 meters in 28.69 seconds. In the middle distance events, freshman Nicole Radzik (Manchaug, Mass.) had a strong meet, placing third in the 3,000 meters in 11 minutes, 1.70 seconds. Her previous best this season was 11:15.8 at Brown back in December.

Bulldogs Open 2005 Season With Trip To Florida
The Bryant baseball team, 40-17 a year ago, begins its’ regional title defense this weekend as the Bulldogs open the 2005 season with a three-game trip to Florida Southern University. The Bulldogs return two all-Americans this season in senior pitcher Stephen Sloan (Franklin, Mass.) and outfielder Mickey Ryan (Lowell, Mass.). Jon Sjogren ‘88 is in his 15th year as coach of the Bulldogs. He is 338-284-1 during his 14 years as coach of the Bulldog baseball program.
