INAUGURAL SEASON FOR SWIMMING
STARTS SATURDAY
The new Bryant University
men’s and women’s swimming teams will commence with
their first season of competition starting this Saturday, hosting
Roger Williams University along with Simon¹s Rock College of
Great Barrington, Mass. in a tri-meet which will be held at the
Chace Athletic Center Pool starting at 11 a.m.
While this will be the first
official varsity season for the women¹s swim team, Bryant did
field a men’s team in the middle 1970’s and early
1980’s. The Bulldogs are coached by Katie Cameron who
joined the Bryant staff this past summer, from
Wagner College in New
York.
The Bulldogs will join conference members
Bentley, Saint Rose,
Southern Connecticut, Saint
Michael’s, Pace, and Le Moyne as Northeast-10 Conference
members fielding swim teams. The conference championship will
take place December 9. Rhode Island
native Thomas Desbiens (Hope Valley, RI / Flour
Bluff) is a junior member of the men¹s team.
