FOOTBALL (2-1, 2-1 NE-10)
Perry Rushes For 221 Yards In Win Over Assumption;
Bulldogs Host Pace For Homecoming Saturday
    Junior Lorenzo Perry (Providence, RI) rushed for a career-high 221 yards on 27 carries and scored three times to lead the Bryant football team to a 48-38 win over Assumption College Saturday. His 221 yards are the third-most in school history while his three rushing touchdowns - including a 61-yarder in the second quarter - tied a school record for touchdowns in a game. Quarterback Charles Granatell (Franklin Lakes, NJ) passed for 185 yards and tied the Tony Granieri¹s record for touchdown passes in a game with four. The Bulldogs, 2-1 on the season, will host Pace University this Saturday for Homecoming & Reunion Weekend at Bulldog Stadium. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.

FIELD HOCKEY (3-5, 2-4 NE-10)
Bulldogs Drop Pair This Week; Visit Merrimack and Assumption    
The Bryant field hockey team dropped a pair of conference matches to Bentley (4-1) and
Saint Michael’s (4-2) this past week.   Laynie Sadler (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Michaela Dwyer (Buskirk, NY) each had a goal in the match with Saint Michael¹s on Saturday.   Sadler leads the Bulldogs with six goals on the season while senior Maureen Burns (Derry, N.H.) has three goals and five assists this season.  The Bulldogs visit Merrimack Thursday and Assumption Saturday.

MEN’S SOCCER (2-3-2, 2-2-1 NE-10)
Following Tough Overtime Loss at Lowell, Bulldogs Rebound With 5-1 Win over Saint Rose Saturday
  Following a tough 2-1 double overtime loss at UMass Lowell last Wednesday, the Bryant men's soccer team rebounded nicely with a 5-1 win over Saint Rose on Saturday at home.  Bryant got off to a hot start when freshman Manny Rodriguez (North Branford, CT) scored on a header just three minutes into the game. Five minutes later junior Bryan Gravel (Londonderry, NH) gave the Bulldogs a 2-0 edge after taking a perfect pass from senior Michael Anania (Warren, RI). Anania would add a goal of his own later in the second half. Sophomore Mike Gargiulo (North Branford, CT) and Wheeler Smith (Franklin, Mass.) would add late goals. The Bulldogs will host Franklin Pierce on Friday, September 23 at 3:30pm.

WOMEN’S SOCCER (5-3-2, 1-2-1 NE-10)
Bulldogs Go 2-1 For The Week Including Big Win Over Bentley
The Bryant women's soccer team posted a pair of wins on the week starting with an impressive 6-1 win on the road at Bentley.  Tricia Spada (Dedham, Mass.) scored twice in the win over the Falcons while Melanie Smith (Rehoboth, MA),  Maddie Bergeron (Westfield, MA), Casey Grange (Methuen) and Stephanie Zalewski (Parsippany, N.J.) added tallies on the afternoon.
The Bulldogs followed with a 5-0 shutout win over AIC at home on Thursday.  The win-streak would come to an end as UMass Lowell squeaked out a 1-0 win Saturday.  After 10 games, Bryant is out-scoring its opponents 25-12 with Spada leading the way with five goals on the season.

CROSS COUNTRY
Paul Runs Well At Fordham Invitational; Bulldogs To Take Part In Rhode Island College
Invitational This Weekend  The Bryant men¹s and women¹s cross country teams competed in the Fordham University Invitational Saturday with the men finishing 5th overall and the Bryant women placing eighth. Caleb Paul (Addison, Maine) led the way for the Bulldogs, finishing 18th in 28:30, while sophomore Andrew Holmes (Holden,
Mass.) was 24th in 29:23.   On the women¹s side, sophomore Nicole Radzik (Sutton, Mass.) was the top Bryant finisher, coming in 20th overall with a time of 21:12.  The Bulldogs will compete in the Rhode Island College Invitational this weekend in preparation for the Bryant Invitational October 1.

VOLLEYBALL (5-6, 2-0 NE-10)
Bulldogs Pick Up Conference Win Tuesday; Host UMass Lowell Wednesday Night
Bryant ran it's conference unbeaten streak to 30 matches with a 3-1 win over Saint Anselm on Tuesday.  The Bulldogs have not dropped a regular-season conference match since the end of the 2002 season. Bryant dropped a pair of matches over the weekend, falling to nationally-ranked Rollins 3-0 Friday and to Dowling 3-2 Saturday.  Michelle Muniz (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) had 22 kills 15 digs in the loss to Dowling Saturday.   The
Bulldogs host UMass Lowell on Wednesday (7 p.m.) and host a double-header Friday afternoon for Homecoming Weekend. Bryant will take on Stonehill starting at 4 p.m. and will follow with a match against the University of Bridgeport at 6 p.m.

DOWN THE STRETCH ...

Shawn M. Nassaney Race To Take Place Sunday, Sept. 25
   The 2005 Homecoming & Reunion Weekend is fast approaching.  There will be plenty of action during the weekend starting on Friday (Sept. 23) with men’s soccer hosting Franklin Pierce at 3:30 p.m., volleyball hosting Stonehill (4 p.m.) and Bridgeport (6 p.m.) while women¹s soccer will host Saint Michael¹s on Saturday (Sept. 24) morning at 10 a.m.  Football will host Pace on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.  The weekend will conclude on Sunday (Sept. 25) with the running of the fifth-annual Shawn M. Nassaney Memorial Race/Walk on the Bryant campus.  The race is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Men’s Golf Looks For Third-Straight Conference Title;
Team To Take Part in University of Rhode Island Adam’s Cup
The Bryant men¹s golf team travels to the Northeast-10 Conference Championship this weekend in Syracuse, N.Y.  The Bulldogs have won two-straight conference titles and 19 Northeast-10 Championships overall. The Bulldogs will take part in the University of Rhode Island Adams Cup in Newport, RI September 26-27.
