BRYANT'S STUDENT-ATHLETES EXCEL IN THE CLASSROOM

Bryant's student-athletes have not only found success on the playing fields and in competition, but have excelled in the classroom and in the community.

While Bryant University's athletics programs have enjoyed tremendous success on the playing fields and have represented the university at several NCAA championships as evidenced by winning the Northeast-10 Presidents' Cup for the third time in the last four years.  Bryant's student-athletes have also found the same amount of success in the classroom.

It takes a special kind of student to have the ability to balance rigorous academic course schedule with the demands of being of a member of a varsity sports team.  While many see individuals compete on days of competition, Bryant's student-athletes are continuously taking part in team practices, weight lifting and conditioning sessions, meetings, as well as nights attending study hall - something mandatory for all freshman athletes.

Which makes the success Bryant's student-athletes have found in the classroom so remarkable.  Bryant's coaches have been able to find the right individuals that not only can compete at a high level athletically, but have the right skills to succeed academically.  Skills such as team-work, decision making, and most importantly, time management which will carry over into their careers long after graduation.

This past spring, eleven teams posted semester GPAs at or above that of the full-time undergraduate student population.  A total of 212 student-athletes (43 percent) achieved a 3.0 GPA or better and 144 were named to Bryant's Dean's List with a 3.2.

In addition, five student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA for the spring semester, all of whom were competing on spring sports teams: Lauren Albert and Caitlin Hansen of the women's lacrosse team; Hafiz Greigre and Amber Torrey of the track & field team and swimming's Allison Schaab.
