BULLDOG WEEKLY ROUNDUP ...

BASEBALL (13-11, 6-2 NE-10)
The Bryant baseball team saw its six-game winning streak snapped Sunday afternoon as they lost to the Owls from Southern Connecticut 8-5 and 3-1 Sunday.  In the first game, the Bulldogs led 5-4 going to the ninth, but closer Adam Vuolo (Walpole, Mass.) allowed four runs on five singles. In the second game, starter Brent Almeida (Fairhaven, Mass.) surrendered three first-inning runs, highlighted by a right-center field triple by Jose Ortiz Jr. The Bulldogs (13-11, 6-2 NE-10) will visit Saint Rose Tuesday (3:30 p.m.).  Prior to the doubleheader, the Bulldogs enjoyed a strong week with two wins over American International and two vs. Assumption.

MEN'S LACROSSE (4-2, 3-0 NE-10)
Kevin Hoagland (Glastonbury, Conn.)
scored five goals while junior goalkeeper Michael Kennedy (Port Jefferson Station, NY) made 14 saves in net to lift the Bryant men's lacrosse team to a 10-3 Northeast-10 Conference win over visiting Saint Michael's Saturday afternoon at the Bryant Turf Complex. Hoagland leads the Bulldogs with 19 goals this season while teammate Bryan Kaufmann (Putnam Valley, NY) has a team best 21 points (10g, 11a). The Bulldogs will travel to Merrimack College next Saturday for a 1 p.m. game.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE (4-2, 3-1 NE-10)
Caitlin Hansen (Spring Lake, NJ)
scored five goals while Delia Glover (Marston Mills, Mass.), Lauren Carlisle (San Diego, Calif.), and Amanda Gallant (Andover, Mass.) each had four goals as the Bryant women's lacrosse team picked up a 24-10 Northeast-10 Conference win over Assumption Saturday.  Carlisle leads the team with 16 goals this season followed by Hansen with 13.  Glover is enjoying a strong start to the season. The sophomore who is also a member of the women's volleyball team, has 12 goals and leads the team with 20 draw controls.  The Bulldogs host Merrimack College on Wednesday (7 p.m.) and Saint Michael's Saturday in Bulldog Stadium.

MEN'S TENNIS (5-5 overall, 4-1 NE-10)
The Bryant men's tennis team dropped a tough 5-4 Northeast-10 Conference decision at Bentley College Wednesday afternoon. Bryant led 2-1 after doubles and earned wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles but it was not enough as the Bulldogs fell for the first time in conference play this season.  The team will host Franklin Pierce on Friday in a makeup match from last weekend.

WOMEN'S TENNIS (8-2, 8-1 NE-10)
After falling to Bentley College 6-3 last Wednesday, the Bryant women's tennis team rebound with a pair of wins in New York over the weekend. The Bulldogs defeated Le Moyne 7-2 Saturday and followed with an 8-1 win at Saint Rose Sunday.  Senior Annette Jervasi (Colchester, Conn.) won both of her matches in straight sets at No. 2 singles and was also victorious with teammate Sacha Solomon (Bourne, NY) at No. 1 doubles.  The Bulldogs travel to Franklin Pierce Tuesday afternoon before heading to Stonehill on Thursday.

SOFTBALL (7-4, 4-0 NE-10)
The Bryant softball team opened conference play in style this past week as the defending conference champion Bulldogs swept a doubleheader with Thursday and followed with an impressive doubleheader sweep at Pace on Saturday.  The road-weary Bulldogs managed a key non-conference split at C.W. Post Sunday, falling 5-0 in the opener but bouncing back to win the second 7-6.  Seniors Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.) and Lauren McNiff (Westford, Mass.), junior Jessica Valentini (Cliffside Park, NJ), and freshman Alison Chouinard (Swansea, Mass.) all had homers for the Bulldogs in their 7-6 victory. Senior Nikki Ingalls (Westford, Mass.) improved to 4-0 with the complete game victory.
