This week, the red-hot baseball team travels to Pace Monday and will face a pair of games with Saint Anselm and Southern NH ... Softball, fresh off its sweep of Franklin Pierce, hosts AIC Monday and hosts Southern NH and Merrimack this Saturday and Sunday ... BULLDOG WEEKLY ROUNDUP ...

BASEBALL (19-12, 9-3 NE-10)
The Bryant Baseball team swept a crucial doubleheader from the Pace Setters behind timely hitting and clutch pitching 4-3 and 2-1 Saturday afternoon at the Bryant Baseball Complex. In the first game, Taylor Ferguson (Charlton, Mass.) led the way offensively with two hits and three RBIs. He got the Bulldog on the board in the second driving home Mike Rocco (Tewksbury, Mass.) with a single and then scored on a sacrifice fly from Jason Alexander (Simsbury, CT). In the second game, Kevin Cobb (Acton, Mass.) continued his outstanding season, pitching 7.2 innings, allowing just one run while striking out six to improve his record to 3-0. The Bulldogs (19-12, 9-3 NE-10) will close out their three-game series with Pace Monday (3:30 p.m.)

MEN'S LACROSSE (4-2, 3-0 NE-10)
Saturday's key Northeast-10 Conference game at Merrimack was postponed due to field conditions (snow) in North Andover, Mass. and will be made up this Sunday (April 15) at 1 p.m. at Merrimack.  With a more than a week since its last action, the Bulldogs will now return to action Wednesday night hosting Bentley College under the lights at the Bryant Turf Complex (7 p.m.).  Saturday, Franklin Pierce comes to town for a 1 p.m. game in the final home regular season game.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE (5-2, 4-1 NE-10)
Sophomore midfielder Delia Glover (Marston Mills, Mass.) scored four goals while junior Ashley Ammendolia (Concord, Mass.) added three goals plus four assists to help lead the women's lacrosse team to an 18-9 win over Saint Michael's Saturday afternoon at Bulldog Stadium.   Bryant (5-2, 4-1 Northeast-10), which had its game with Merrimack Wednesday night postponed to April 26 due to ice and snow, scored six goals on its first nine shots of the game as Amanda Gallant (Andover, Mass.) and Caitlin Hansen (Shrewsbury, Mass.) scored a pair of goals early while Glover followed with back-to-back tallies to give the Bulldogs a quick 6-1 lead.  Freshman Chelsea Pettingill (South Portland, Maine) made a career-best 20 saves in the win.

MEN'S TENNIS (7-5 overall, 6-1 NE-10)
The Bryant University men's tennis team snapped a four-match losing skid Friday afternoon thanks to a 9-0 win over Franklin Pierce and followed with a strong 6-3 win over Southern New Hampshire Saturday. Against the Ravens Friday, the Bulldogs got off to a strong start in singles play thanks to a strong effort from freshman Dylan Whiting (Florence, Mass.).  Whiting rolled to a two-set win over Austin Gardella at No. 1, winning 6-3, 6-0. Kevin Gardiner (Powder Springs, Ga.) followed suit with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 while Craig Drushella (Harwich, Mass.) added a straight-set win at No. 3.  Against Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, Bryant fell at No. 1 and No. 2 singles but rallied to win four singles matches to pull out the victory.  Drushella helped Bryant to the victory with strong play at both singles and doubles. In singles, Drushella earned a straight-set win over Mike Riccardi at No. 3, winning 6-0, 6-1.   The Bulldogs travel to AIC on Tuesday.

WOMEN'S TENNIS (10-2, 10-1 NE-10)
The Bryant women's tennis team bounced back strong from a tough 6-3 loss to Bentley College last week with a solid 6-3 win over Stonehill College on Thursday and a 9-0 win over Franklin Pierce Friday. Seniors Sacha Solomon (Bourne, Mass.), Annette Jervasi (Colchester, Conn.) and Heather Fedesco (Rocky Hill, Conn.) were all winners in both singles and doubles play in lifting Bryant to the win over Stonehill in a rematch of last year's NE-10 Championship won by the Bulldogs. Both Solomon and Jervasi were victorious in Friday's win over Franklin Pierce.  Junior Michelle Burke (Barrington, R.I.) was strong at No. 3, winning 6-1, 6-0 while freshman Kristen Swanson (West Newbury, Mass.) adding an 8-0 win at No. 4.  Bryant will host AIC on Tuesday before heading to the Bloomsburg Duals next weekend.

SOFTBALL (11-6, 7-1 NE-10)
The Bulldog softball team had a busy week, splitting a pair of doubleheaders with Southern Connecticut and Adelphi (featuring a 10-minute snow delay) before rebounding nicely with a doubleheader sweep of Franklin Pierce Saturday at home. Seniors Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.) and Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.) powered the Bulldogs to a two-game sweep over the Ravens. Wilbur was 4 of 4 with 5 RBI including a 3-run, walk-off home run in game one, won by the Bulldogs 8-0. Gagne's three-run triple in the fifth inning of game 2 broke the game open for the home team in a 10-2 win.  Earlier in the week, freshman Alison Chouinard (Swansea, Mass.) had the game-winning hit for the Bulldogs in the opener against Southern Connecticut and added a grand slam in the nightcap of Tuesday's game against the Owls.

MEN'S GOLF
The Bryant men's golf team placed 12th at the Yale Spring Opener in New Haven, Conn. over the weekend.  Nick Caccia (Riverside, R.I.) led the way for Bryant, finishing in a tie for 33rd overall with a two round score of 156 after shooting a 78 on both days.  Dan Peck (North Kingstown, R.I.) was next at 41st with a 158 while Jason Thresher came in a 62nd with a 162.

TRACK & FIELD
Led by its usual strong cast in the sprints, the Bulldogs turned in a balanced effort through all events at Saturday's non-scoring meet.  Senior sprinter Hafiz Greigre (Attleboro, Mass.) captured a pair of firsts, winning both the 100 meters (10.85 seconds) and later taking top honors in the 200 meters in a time of 21.19 seconds.  Teammate Alex Engel (Spencer, Mass.) was third in the 200m, finishing in 22.44 seconds.  Joe Brennan (East Providence, RI / La Salle) took home second in the men's 400 meters in 51.08 seconds.  In the women's 400 meters, Stephanie Montagano (Wakefield, Mass.) took first with a solid time of 60:87 while Justine Douvandjian (Andover, Mass.) was not far behind, finishing second in the 400m in 1:02.72.  Sprinter Natasha Stevenson (Haverhill, Mass.) took home first in the women's 100m dash in 12.72 seconds.  Bryant's 10,000 meter runners Nicole Radzik (Sutton, Mass.) and Andrew Holmes (Holden, Mass.) won their respective meets on the afternoon.  Radzik crossed the line in 37 minutes, 42.72 seconds while Holmes would later turn in a time of 34:10.48.

In the field events, Jessica Cegarra (Danville, NH) took first in the women's shot put with a day's best mark of 39 feet, 9.25 inches and would later take second in the women's discus with a throw of 108-11.
