BULLDOGS CONCLUDE SUCCESSFUL HOMECOMING IN STYLE
Following another highly successful Homecoming & Reunion weekend on the Bryant University campus, the Bulldog sports teams will look to use the momentum as the fall sports seasons head down to the push for the playoffs in October.  Football takes its 4-0 record on the road to C.W. Post, a team Bryant has never beaten in six games while women's soccer puts their unbeaten record on the line Wednesday afternoon hosting tenth-ranked Saint Rose at 3 pm.  Five teams will be in action at home on a busy Saturday afternoon coming up.

BULLDOG WEEKLY ROUNDUP ...

CROSS COUNTRY
The Bryant men's and women's cross country teams were idle this week and will return to action Saturday at the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.

FIELD HOCKEY (8-4, 8-1 NE-10)
The Bryant field hockey team split a pair of games this past week.  The eighth-ranked Bulldogs defeated Assumption, 3-1 Wednesday but came up a goal short in a 2-1 loss to No. 9 C.W. Post on Saturday.  Caitlyn Johnson (Walpole, Mass.) had two goals on the week. Bryant will host UMass Lowell on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

FOOTBALL (4-0, 4-0 NE-10)
The Bulldog football team extended their best start in school history with a 22-19 win over Pace on Saturday afternoon.  Chris Wohlheter's (Newark, Ohio) 67-yard punt return helped set up Bryant's game-winning touchdown.  Lindsey Gamble (Roxbury, Mass.) is currently second in the conference with 115.8 yards per game rushing average.  The Bulldogs have never beaten C.W. Post in their six meetings.  The Pioneers scored with 32 seconds left to pull out a 24-21 win in last year's meeting in Smithfield, RI.

MEN'S SOCCER (7-4, 4-4 NE-10)
The men's soccer team split a pair of conference games last week.  Manny Rodriguez (North Branford, Conn.) scored the game-winner in overtime on a rebound from a penalty kick to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 win over Saint Anselm last Tuesday.  The Bulldogs fell to Le Moyne Saturday on the road, 2-0 and will travel to Stonehill Tuesday.

WOMEN'S SOCCER (12-0-2, 7-0-1 NE-10)
The second-ranked Bryant women's soccer team picked up three wins this past week.  After knocking off Le Moyne, 4-3 in a come from behind win last Tuesday, the Bulldogs stepped out of conference to earn two wins over the weekend, defeating New Haven 3-0 Friday and Bridgeport 3-1 Sunday.  The Bulldogs scored 10 goals last week, all by 10 different players.  Freshman Kim Rich (Lancaster, Mass.) scored the game-winner and also added an assist in the team's win Sunday.  The Bulldogs host 10th-ranked Saint Rose this Wednesday (3 pm) in a rematch of last year's NCAA playoff game won by the Golden Knights, 2-0, ending Bryant's season.

VOLLEYBALL (13-9, 5-0 NE-10)
The Bulldog volleyball team improved to 5-0 in conference play with wins over Southern New Hampshire and Saint Rose this past week.  The Bulldogs will host Merrimack Tuesday night (7 pm) and rival New Haven at 7 pm on Thursday at the Chace Athletic Center.
