BRYANT FALL SPORTS TEAMS CONTINUE TO DOMINATE IN THE NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE.
FOOTBALL
Bryant Sophomore running back Lindsey Gamble
(Roxbury, MA) has been named Northeast-10 Offensive Player
of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Gamble had 182 yards rushing on 26 carries along with four
touchdowns in the 38-28 win over assumption this past
Saturday. Gamble scored on touchdown runs of 5, 1, 22, and 1
yard(s). Bryant, 3-0 in the Northeast-10, will host Pace this
weekend during Homecoming and Reunion weekend at Bryant
University. The game kicks off at 1 pm.
VOLLEYBALL
Bryant senior volleyball duo of Likica Grceva
(Natick, Mass.) and Tiffany Garry (Frankfort,
IL) have been named Northeast-10 Conference Player and
Setter of the Week the conference office announced Monday for the
second week in a row. Grceva averaged 4.0 kills per game and
4.17 digs per game in five matches. The outside hitter had 19
kills and 26 digs a win over Tiffin and added 16 kills against
Shippensburg. She recorded 11 kills and 3 aces in the win
over UMass Lowell. Grceva was also named to the East
Stroudsburg All- Tournament team. Garry averaged 11.78
assists per game for the past five matches last week for the
Bulldogs. She had 56 assists plus four kills and three blocks
in a win over Tiffin. For the week, Garry also had 17 service
aces (0.94 per game) including five versus Shippensburg.
Bryant, 3-0 in the Northeast-10, will host Bridgeport and Saint
Michaels on Friday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center starting
at 4 p.m.
CROSS COUNTRY
The Northeast-10 conference office announced Bryant's own
Nicole Radzik (Sutton, Mass.) as the Northeast-10
Women's Athlete of the Week. Radzik captured her third
overall individual title in as many meets, winning the Bryant
Invitational in a time of 19:44. The Bulldogs will be
competing next at the New England Championships at Franklin Park in
Boston, Ma on Saturday Oct. 6, 2007 at 10:00 am.
HONOR ROLL
Field Hockey - Kundayi Mawema (Hare,
Zimbabwe) Made 12 save in a pair of games this past week. Mawema
made two saves in a win at American International and recorded 10
saves in the 2-0 loss to Bentley.
Football - Marcus Lindsey (Bridgeport, CT) had a total of 10 tackles including 9 solo stops this past weekend in the 38-28 win over Assumption.
