WARWICK, R.I. - Bryant University men's and women's basketball coaches Mary Burke and Max Good were named the Division II/III Men's and Women's Coaches of the Year by the Rhode Island Media.  The announcement was made today at the final media luncheon at the Radisson at T.F. Green Airport.

Burke guided Bryant to a 20-win season and the program's seventh all-time selection to the NCAA tournament.  It was the third time Burke has led the Bulldogs to the NCAA tourney in her 17-year coaching career.

With only one senior on the roster, the Bulldogs earned wins over nationally ranked teams - Stonehill, Bentley, and defending national champion Southern Connecticut. As the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament, the Bulldogs reached the championship game by knocking off No. 2 Franklin Pierce and No. 3 Assumption.   The Bulldogs finished the year with a 20-12 overall record.

This past season, Good coached the Bulldogs to their fifth-consecutive NCAA tournament appearance becoming the only team in the region to qualify for the NCAA's in the past five tournaments.

The Bulldogs finished the season second in the conference in scoring defense and earned a No. 5 regional ranking.  In the NCAA tournament, Bryant defeated No. 4 C.W. Post in the first round before falling to eventual regional champion Bentley.

The Bulldogs finished the season with an 18-13 overall record marking the sixth-straight winning season under coach Good in seven seasons at Bryant.
