The Bryant University Bulldogs are set to kick off a big weekend on
starting this Friday when the women’s basketball team opens
its home season hosting the University of Maine at the Chace
Athletic Center. It will be a busy start to the weekend with
men’s basketball, football and men’s &
women’s swimming all in action.
The women’s basketball team will be looking for their first
win of the season when they tip off with the Black Bears starting
at 7 pm. The game can be seen live on www.bryantbulldogs.tv.
A full slate of action on Saturday starts with Bryant football (7-3, 4-3 Northeast Conference) taking on Duquesne (6-4, 4-3 NEC) at 12 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium on Senior Day. The match is the season finale for the Bulldogs as they celebrate the final game for the team’s 32 seniors. The Bulldogs are coming off an impressive 27-21 victory over Robert Morris, ranked 25th in the nation, and are a perfect 6-0 at home this season. A win Saturday would clinch 3rd place in the conference.
Prior to the game, the Bryant University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be hosting Kids Day. Starting at 10 p.m., athletes from various Bryant teams will be running sports including soccer, t-ball, dodge ball, relay races and more. The program will run until the football game at noon and participants will be treated to a barbeque and free ticket to the game. All kids ages 5 and above are welcome to register.
Following the Bulldogs football game, the men’s basketball team will take on Army at 3:30 p.m. in the Chace Athletics Center. Fans with a football ticket stub will be admitted free of charge as will anyone with a military I.D.
The men’s and women’s swim teams will also be competing on Saturday in a meet at 1 p.m. with Fairfield University in the Chace Athletics Center pool. To close out the weekend, the women’s swim team will take on an impressive University of Vermont (6-1) team on Sunday at 1 p.m.
