Saluting Student-Athletes
Bryant Honors Student-Athletes on National Student-Athlete Day
In honor of National Student-Athlete Day, Bryant University salutes all 468 student-athletes for their outstanding success both on the playing fields and in the classroom. Bryant University prides itself with the various accomplishments in competition and the leadership skills these student-athletes develop during their collegiate careers as they prepare for success as professionals after graduation.
Bryant’s student-athletes are active members in the community, taking part in such initiatives as reading days at local elementary schools, organizing local cleanup activities throughout the year, mentoring youth with various camps and clinics, taken part in various academic clubs and organizations on campus, represented Bryant at several academic competitions, lent a hand to various local food banks and helped raise awareness and support for various non-profit organizations such as the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Foundation.
National Student-Athlete Day, a program of the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS), has been celebrated annually on April 6 since 1987. National Student-Athlete Day recognizes the accomplishments of student-athletes nationwide who excel in the classroom, on the playing fields and in their communities.
National Student-Athlete Day was created by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS) and the Northeastern University Center for the Study of Sport in Society, with partnership from the NCAA and the National Federation of State High School Associations.
Bryant University is currently in its third year competing at the Division I level and has already enjoyed tremendous success competing at the highest level. Baseball won the school’s first Northeast Conference regular season title last spring and recently this past fall, field hockey earned a spot in the NEC Conference tournament.
Several individuals and coaches have earned all-conference awards including women’s swimming which took home the NEC Swimmer of the Meet and Coach of the Year honors at the conference championships this past winter.
In the classroom, the Bulldogs posted their highest overall cumulative GPA in the Fall with 162 earning Dean’s List honors and 229 recording a 3.0 GPA or higher.
