BASEBALL DEFEATS SOUTHERN N.H. 6-5 SUNDAY
Box Score
MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Bryant baseball team completed a three-game weekend sweep over Southern N.H. with a 6-5 win over the Penmen Sunday afternoon. Adam Vuolo picked up his second win in relief of starter Eric Loh while Mike Rocco and Nick Tucarella each had three hits in the game.
Bryant led 1-0 early, thanks to an RBI single by Tucarella in the top of the first, but Southern N.H. came back to score a pair of runs in the bottom half of the first. The Bulldogs took a 3-2 lead into the sixth, but Southern N.H. would rally with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 5-3.
But thanks to a couple of key errors and the strong pitching from Vuolo late in the game, the Bulldogs would score one more run in the seventh and take the lead for good with a pair in the eighth.
Rocco went 3 for 5 with a pair of runs scored while Vuolo pitched three innings without allowing a hit to move to 2-0 on the year.
Bryant, now 16-1 and 10-5 in the Northeast-10, will travel to Bentley on Tuesday and host the Falcons on Thursday.
