BRYANT BASEBALL DROPS PAIR TO PACE SATURDAY

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - The Bryant University baseball team dropped a pair of Northeast-10 Conference games this afternoon at Pace University. Bryant, 6-0 to open conference play, now drops to 6-3 (12-9 overall).

In the first game, Stephen Sloan pitched well through nine innings, allowing just three hits and a pair of unearned runs but the Bulldogs couldn't hold on as the Setters pulled out a 3-2 win in 12 innings.  The Bulldogs led 2-1 but gave up the tying run in the bottom of the ninth after giving up a pair of defensive errors in the inning. 

The Bulldogs had the go-ahead runner on second in the 11th but unable to get the run home as Pace would win it with a single in the bottom of the 12th.   The Bulldogs committed six errors in the game.

In the second, the Bulldogs had just one error but managed just six hits as Pace came through with the winning in the 11th.  Mike Rocco had a pair of hits while Chris Bowser came on in relief of starter Luke Cowan and threw 4 2/3 innings of no-hit ball.

The Bulldogs will host Pace for a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Bryant Baseball Complex.
