Baseball Takes Pair from Elizabeth City
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant baseball team picked up a pair of wins by sweeping a doubleheader at Elizabeth City College in New Jersey on Sunday. Bryant won the opener 5-2 and pulled out a 5-4 win in the second. The Bulldogs continue their spring break road trip with a game at Mount Olive on Monday.
Jason Alexander had four hits in the two games, going 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI to lead the Bulldogs to a 5-2 win. Adam Rourke also added a pair of hits and scored twice as Stephen Sloan picked up his first win of the season, allowing just two runs on nine hits while striking out four.
In the second game, Alexander went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI as Matt Gaynor went five innings to earn the win.
