Bryant Baseball Summer Clinic and Scout Day

Baseball Ends Season With 1-0 Loss To UMass Lowell in Northeast-10 Tournament Thursday
LOWELL, Mass. - UMass Lowell scored an unearned run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the River Hawks edged the Bryant baseball team, 1-0 in first round action of the 2006 Northeast-10 Conference baseball tournament. The Bulldogs ends their season with an 18-33 overall record.

SMITHFIELD, RI - Tonight's Northeast-10 Conference Tournament baseball game at UMass Lowell has been postponed due to inclement weather in Lowell, Mass. The game has been rescheduled for Thursday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Bryant University and Assumption College ended their regular seasons by splitting a doubleheader Sunday. Bryant won the first game 7-3, piecing together 15 hits, but was shutout in the second game, 1-0.

Ninth Inning Rally By Pace Not Enough As Bryant Baseball Wins 4-3
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Bryant defeated Pace University, 4-3, as the Bulldogs held off a three-run ninth inning rally by the Setters was to hold on to the victory. The Setters drop to 29-17 overall and 14-11 in Northeast-10 Conference action, while Bulldogs improve to 17-30 overall and 15-12 in NE-10 play.

Baseball Game Against Pace Postponed; Rescheduled For Friday at 3:30pm; Loh Named Pitcher of the Week
Smithfield, RI - The baseball game between the Setters of Pace University and Bryant will have to wait until Friday to see if mother nature will cooperate. The game has been rescheduled for Friday May 5 at 3:30pm. Sophomore Eric Loh (Old Greenwich, CT) was named Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week late last night for his performances over the past week.

Cowan Pitches a Gem as Bryant Baseball Defeats AIC 1-0 Sunday

Bryant Baseball Splits A Pair With AIC, Saturday
Springfield, MA - Bryant starter Eric Loh (Old Greenwich, Conn.) fanned 11 without walking a batter going the distance picking up the 2-0 game one victory. The Bulldogs posted a 2-0 win in the opener and are now 15-30 and 13-12 in NE-10 play, while the Yellow Jackets who won game two 8-0 are 12-22 and 8-18 in the league.

Bryant Baseball Drops 6-1 to UMass Lowell
Smithfield, RI - The Bryant University baseball team welcomed Northeast-10 opponent UMass Lowell to the Bryant Baseball Complex on Thursday afternoon. UMass Lowell won the game 6-1 behind eight strong innings of three-hit ball from senior Dan Shaughnessy (Lowell, MA). The River Hawks improve to 31-8 overall and 18-6 in the conference while the Bulldogs drop to 14-29 overall and 12-11 in the NE-10.

Baseball Defeats Merrimack Monday 3-0 Behind Eric Loh's Complete Game Seven-Hitter
SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant sophomore righty Eric Loh picked up his third win of the season Monday, going the distance in earning a complete game win as the Bulldogs defeated Merrimack College 3-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Bryant Baseball Complex. The Bulldogs led 1-0 after two innings and added two more runs in the seventh. Bryant will visit UMass Lowell Tuesday nigth for a 7 pm game.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Paul Novakowski provided the offense and sophomore pitcher Luke Cowan pitched seven scoreless innings as the Bryant University baseball team picked up a 4-1 win at Southern Connecticut University Thursday afternoon. The Bulldogs (12-26) will travel to Merrimack College for a doubleheader Saturday.

Smithfield, RI - The Bryant University baseball team welcomed Northeast-10 opponent Southern Connecticut to the Bryant Baseball Complex on Tuesday afternoon for the first of a home at home series with the Owls. Southern Connecticut would win the game 2-1 behind a solid pitching performance by junior Josh Terletzky (Plainfield, CT). The Owls improve to 22-10 overall and 11-4 in the conference while the Bulldogs drop to 11-26 overall and 9-8 in NE-10 play.

Bryant Baseball Scores 3 in the 10th to Defeat Assumption 7-4
Worcester, MA - Senior Chris Brown (Norwalk, CT) knocked in the winning run in Pat McKenna (Orange, CT) with an RBI double in the top of the tenth to defeat Assumption 7-4 in 10 innings Monday evening. The Bulldogs are now 9-7 in conference play and 11-25 overall.

Stonehill would win the game 5-4 behind two runs in the top of the ninth. The Skyhawks improve to 16-11 overall while the Bulldogs drop to 10-25 overall.

SMITHFIELD, RI Trailing by one in the bottom of the ninth, the Bryant baseball team (10-24, 8-7 NE-10) could not get the tying run home, and lost to Stonehill (15-11, 10-3 NE-10) by the score of 4-3 this afternoon at the Bryant Baseball Complex. Stonehill's senior pitcher Billy Sittig (West Roxbury, Mass.) hurled a complete-game striking out nine to notch his fourth win of the season.

Baseball Splits With Saint Anselm Saturday
MANCHESTER, NH - The Bryant Baseball team split a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader with Saint Anselm Saturday afternoon at Sullivan Park as the Bulldogs fell 4-3 in the first game and came back to win, 4-3 in the second. The Bulldogs are now 9-22 overall and 7-5 in conference play as the two teams will close out the weekend series on Sunday at 1 pm at Bryant University.

RINDGE, NH - Mike Rocco went 2 for 4 at the plate but it was not enough as No. 21 Franklin Pierce picked up a 6-2 Northeast-10 Conference win over the Bryant University baseball team. The Bulldogs will travel to Saint Anselm Saturday for a doubleheader before returning home to host the Hawks on Sunday at 1 pm.

MANCHESTER, N.H. Senior Paul Novakowski (Prospect, CT) went 3-for-4 with a single, a double and a homerun to lead Bryant University to a 3-1 victory over Southern New Hampshire University in 13 innings in Northeast-10 Conference baseball action. Bryant improved to 5-19 overall and 3-2 in the league. The Bulldogs snapped Southern New Hampshire's three-game winning streak dropping the Penmen to 12-4 overall and 3-1 in the NE-10.

Smithfield, RI - The Bryant University baseball team welcomed Caldwell College of the CACC, and Northeast-10 opponent Bentley College to the Bryant Baseball Complex for a double-header. The Cougars won the first game 8-3 out hitting the Bulldogs 13-4 and improve their record to 5-9. Bentley rallied in the ninth inning to take the 2-1 come from behind victory over the Bulldogs. Bentley improves their overall record to 5-8 and Northeast-10 record to 2-3 while Bryant drops to 4-18 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

WALTHAM, Mass. - Tied 2-2 heading into extra innings, the Bryant University baseball team exploded for five runs in the top of the 11th to pull out an 11-2 win over Bentley in the first game of a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader Saturday. The Bulldogs would come back to pick up an 8-2 win in the nightcap to improve to 4-16 on the season. Bryant will host Caldwell (11:30 am) and Bentley on Sunday at the Bryant Baseball Complex.

South Easton, MA - The Bryant University Baseball team has been chosen to finish sixth this season in the Northeast-10 according to the Baseball Coaches' Preseason Poll. The Bulldogs received 97 points after compiling a 22-21 record last season.

Former Bryant Baseball Standout Pitcher, Doug Johnson signs with Angels
Sioux Falls, SD - Former Bryant University standout pitcher Doug Johnson, has recently signed with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. A two-time first-team All-Northeast-10 selection Johnson played three stellar seasons with the Bulldogs before being selected fifth in the 2002 draft by the Colorado Rockies.

Bryant Celebrates Newest Hall of Fame Members Saturday Night at the Bello Center
SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant University welcomed three new members into its athletics hall of fame during the annual dinner ceremony Jan. 21 at the elegant Bello Center on the campus of Bryant University. The newest members, Noelle Emmette '92, Bill DiStefano '98, and Stephanie Ladd '89, bring the total number of Hall of Famers to sixty-six.

Baseball Opens Practice This Week; Bulldogs Open Season Feb. 3 at No. 3 Delta State
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University baseball team has opened its spring practice this week in preparation for the upcoming 2006 season. The Bulldogs, under the direction of first-year coach Jamie Pinzino, open with a three-game road trip to No. 3 Delta State February 3-4. Jamie Pinzino Named Head Baseball Coach at Bryant University
SMITHFIELD, R.I. ? Jamie Pinzino, former head baseball coach at Assumption College, has been named head baseball coach at Bryant University. The announcement was made today by Interim Director of Athletics John Ruppert. Pinzino replaces John Sjogren who was named head coach at Rollins College earlier this month.
