Providence Journal: Bulldogs poised for playoff push
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Committed leadership, better hitting and defense and an infusion of freshman talent have produced an impressive rebound for Bryant University’s baseball team this spring. The Bulldogs, 22-12 overall, are 15-3 and third in the Northeast-10 Conference as they prepare for a crucial three-game weekend series against first-place Franklin Pierce (27-5). They have won eight in a row and are ranked third in the NCAA Division II Northeast Region and third in New England Division II this week.

Bryant Celebrates Newest Hall of Fame Members Saturday Night at the Bello Center
SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant University welcomed three new members into its athletics hall of fame during the annual dinner ceremony Jan. 21 at the elegant Bello Center on the campus of Bryant University. The newest members, Noelle Emmette '92, Bill DiStefano '98, and Stephanie Ladd '89, bring the total number of Hall of Famers to sixty-six.

Jamie Pinzino Named Head Baseball Coach at Bryant University
SMITHFIELD, R.I. ? Jamie Pinzino, former head baseball coach at Assumption College, has been named head baseball coach at Bryant University. The announcement was made today by Interim Director of Athletics John Ruppert. Pinzino replaces John Sjogren who was named head coach at Rollins College earlier this month.

Bryant Baseball Coach Jon Sjogren Resigns to Take Similar Position at Rollins College
SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant University has announced the resignation of 15-year head baseball coach Jon Sjogren who will take a similar position at Rollin College in Winter Park, Florida. The announcement was made today by Rollins interim Athletic Director Pennie Parker. Sjogren, a Millis, Mass. native and 1988 graduate of Bryant, posted a 360-305-1 career record at Bryant, guiding the Bulldogs to three NCAA tournament appearances.

Sloan Makes Professional Debut With Brockton Rox
BROCKTON, MASS ? Former Bryant University baseball standout Stephen Sloan ?05 signed with the Brockton Rox of the Can-Am League on July 5 after enjoying a successful career with the Bulldogs. Sloan, an ABCA First Team All-America in 2004 after leading the Bulldogs to their first-ever College World Series appearance, signed as a free agent and made his first professional debut this past week in Quebec.

Five Bulldogs Earns All-Conference Baseball Honors
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - Adam Rourke and Daryle Crowley (left) lead a list of five Bryant University baseball players earning all-conference honors by the Northeast-10. Both Rourke and Crowley were named second team all-conference by the head coaches. Paul Novakowski, Mike Rocco, and Mickey Ryan were also honored on the all-conference squad for 2005.

SMITHFIELD, RI - The 2005 Bryant baseball team will return a pair of all-Americans as the Bulldogs look to defend their NCAA Regional Title this spring. The Bulldogs, 40-17 a year ago, opened the preseason ranked No. 26 nationally.
