Bryant Baseball Loses Pair of Games Monday
WINTER SHORES, FLA. - The Bryant University baseball team rounded out its six-game roadtrip with a pair of losses, one in extra innings, at Rollins College Monday.
Despite a superb 11-inning performance by Dan Lozeau (Pelham, NH), the Bulldogs lost to Bentley College 3-2 in 12 innings.
Lozeau pitched 11 innings of six hit ball, striking out six while walking none, before being relieved by Adam Vuolo (Walpole, Mass.) in the 12th. Vuolo surrendered an unearned run with one out in the 12th and the Bulldogs lost to Bentley 3-2.
Shortstop Pat McKenna (Orange, CT) and catcher Jeff Vigurs (South Windsor, CT) each had two hits in the loss.
Trailing 2-0 in the eighth, Bryant clawed back to tie the game as McKenna drove home Vigurs with a single and CF Nick Campbell (Raynham, Mass.) followed with the game-tying single, bringing home 3B Jason Alexander (Simsbury, CT).
In the second game, Bryant lost to Rollins College for the third straight day 9-3.
Junior Ben Conn (0-1) (Holden, Mass.) got the start and allowed five runs (four earned) in 2 1/3 innings.
RF Mark Dondero (Medfield, Mass.) was 2-for-4 with a RBI, while McKenna reached base in all three plate appearances (1-for-1, 2 BBs).
Bryant (0-6) will gear up for its next road trip which will kick off with games against New Haven and Felician at Fort Pierce, Fla. on March 3.
