Brent Almeida Named Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - After hurled 14.1 scoreless innings this past week, and pitching a complete game shutout in a 5-0 victory over Southern New Hampshire, while striking out seven, freshman Brent Almeida (Fairhaven, Mass.) was named the Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week from April 9-15.

Almeida becomes the fifth Bulldog freshman to win the award, and seventh Bulldog to capture a weekly conference honor.

The Bulldogs (22-12, 14-3 NE-10) were also ranked third in two regional rankings polls this week.

Bryant will host Bentley Wednesday (3:30 p.m.) in a make-up game that was rained out Tuesday.
