BRYANT BASEBALL TAKES TWO FROM SAINT ROSE

SMITHFIELD, RI -  Eric Loh (Old Greenwich, CT) pitched a complete game five hitter in game one while Nick Campbell (Raynham, MA) went 3-for-5 and Dylan Stone (Portsmouth, RI) drove in three runs in the second game as the Bryant University baseball team swept a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader from Saint Rose, winning 9-1 in the opener and 9-1 in the nightcap.

Sunday's baseball game scheduled to be played at Saint Rose has been cancelled.   

The wins moves Bryant to 16-10 overall and 6-1 in the Northeast-10 heading into Tuesday's showdown with Franklin Pierce in Smithfield, RI (3:30 p.m.).  Saint Rose, which came into the doubleheader Saturday undefeated in conference play, drops to 4-2 in league (6-15 overall). 

Battling arctic-like temperatures as the Bulldog Baseball Complex, Loh improved to 5-0 on the season  as the righty allowed just one run while walking one and striking out seven Golden Knights on the afternoon. 

Saint Rose took an early 1-0 lead as Victor Tolentino doubled to lead off the inning and came around to score on a single to center by Sean Weber.  But the Bulldogs would get the run back in the fourth and plate two more in the fifth. 

The Bulldogs would break the game open with three more runs in the sixth.  A Stone single just inside the left field line scored two Bulldogs.   

In the second game, Saint Rose again went in front 1-0 as Ryan Ross led off the third with a walk and would eventually score on a single by Ryan Price.  But Bryant would answer back with four runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh, enough to give starter David O'Brien (Whitman, MA) his third win of the season.
