SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Bryant University baseball recently concluded its annual Black and Gold Series, with Team Black winning the five-game series, 4-1.
Led by Series MVP Tim Norton (Barnstable, Mass.), Team Black batted .325 for the series, outscoring Team Gold, 23-16. Norton led the winning side with a .500 (8-16) average and collected a series-high five RBI.
Sophomore southpaw Mark Andrews (Hillsborough, N.J.) picked up both a win and a save for Team Black en route to being named Pitcher of the Series. Andrews threw six innings over two games without allowing a hit, striking out six batters.
