RAIN DELAYS BULLDOGS' SEASON OPENER AGAINST MERCER; TO PLAY DOUBLEHEADERS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Bryant University baseball team will have to wait another day to get in its full nine-inning 2009 season opener, as the Bulldogs got rained out of a 0-0 game in the bottom of the third Friday afternoon at Mercer College in Macon, Ga.

The Bulldogs and the Bears will restart the game Saturday in the front end of a 4 p.m. doubleheader at Claude Smith Field and will, weather permitting, meet for a second doubleheader on Sunday morning. Time is TBA.
