RICHMOND, VA - The Bryant University baseball team picked up a 10-4 win over the University of Richmond Wednesday afternoon.  The Bulldogs and Spiders will close out the three-game series Thursday with a 2 p.m. game. Bryant improves to 6-3 with the win while Richmond drops to 9-2.

In Wednesday's game, the Bulldogs took a quick 3-0 lead in the top of the first thanks to a two-out, two-run home run by Jeff Vigurs.  The Spiders would score a single run on a two-out sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first off starter Chris Foundas, but the Bulldog pitcher would get out of the inning with a big strikeout.

Bryant would explode for six more runs in the top of the seventh keyed a Pat O'Connor  three-run home run, his third of the year, and the Bulldogs would cruise to the win from there as Matt Griswold picked up the win, his first of the year.  Brent Almeida worked the ninth, allowing just one run in relief.

O'Connor finished with four RBIs in the game while Dylan Stone and Nick Campbell each had a pair of hits for Bryant. After opening the season 0-2, Bryant has now won six of its last seven games.

Following Thursday's game, the Bulldogs will travel to Harrisburg, VA for a three-game series with James Madison starting with a double-header Saturday and a single game Sunday.
