BASEBALL EARNS NUMBER THREE RANKING IN LATEST NEIBA POLL
NEIBA Poll - Week of March 30th
SMITHFIELD, R.I.- With an 18-7 record in their first month of Division I play, the Bryant University baseball team earned a number three ranking in the latest New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association Coaches' Poll, including receiving two first place votes. With wins over Boston College and the University of Rhode Island, who are ranked number one and two in the region respectively, the Bulldogs and head coach Jamie Pinzino have turned heads all across New England with their impressive play.
As voted by the Division I coaches in New England, Bryant received two first place votes while ranking ahead of Northeastern and UConn in the top five. Dartmouth, Brown and Central Connecticut also received votes. In their first season of DI competition, the Bulldogs have already knocked-off some top-notch opponents, including Virginia Tech, URI, Boston College, James Madison and Richmond. The squad is in the midst of a season-best six game win streak, and will host two more New England area teams in Maine and Brown on Tuesday and Thursday. Bryant has also posted a 6-2 record against future Northeast Conference opponents after sweeping Long Island this past weekend.
