MEDFORD, Mass. - A trio of 2008 Bulldogs will get the opportunity of a lifetime Saturday, June 14, as join the rest of New England's top college baseball players in the NEIBA New England College All-Star Game, held at historic Fenway Park. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
Graduated seniors Eric Loh (Old Greenwich, Conn.) and Jason Alexander (Simsbury, Conn.) and rising junior Nick Campbell (Raynham, Mass.) were all selected to represent the Bryant University baseball team by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association, as all three players wrapped up stellar 2008 campaigns just weeks ago.
Loh, a starting right-handed pitcher and two-year ace for Bryant, makes his second appearance in the Fenway All-Star game, getting the starting nod in 2007's matchup after his Regional Pitcher of the Year and Third Team All-American junior season. In 2008, Loh returned as the Bulldogs' ace, posting a 10-3 record while earning First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Region honors. Loh also received All-Region First Team recognition from ABCA/Rawlings as well as earning his second-straight NCBWA All-American Honorable Mention.

2008 sophomore Nick Campbell |
Alexander, Bryant's leader on and off the field, was a four-year starting third baseman and two-year captain for the Bulldogs. A solid defensive third baseman, the 2008 graduate made some noise with his bat over his four-year career as well. But no season was as successful as his final one. Recording his 200th career hit in this season's NCAA tournament first-round matchup while batting .313 on the year, Alexander left Bryant with a number of records, including most career appearances and most career starts. A 2008 All-Conference and All-Region First Teamer, Alexander also garnered ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team honors.
As only a sophomore, centerfielder Nick Campbell stood out as the Bulldogs' brightest young star both at the plate and in the field. Campbell's .358 batting average led the Bulldogs on the season, as did his 97 hits, 18 stolen bases and 271 at bats. An All-Conference, Daktronics All-Region and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First Team selection, Campbell is poised to get his 200th career hit in 2009, finishing his sophomore campaign with 173 hits as a Bulldog.
The June 14 contest pits a team of Division I All-Stars against a squad of Division II All-Stars and Division III Senior All-Stars in the annual game. The University Division leads the series with a 21-10-1 record, but the College Division team won last year's game with a 2-0 shutout.
