SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University baseball team's home opener scheduled for Tuesday, March 18 has been postponed and is part of several changes to the Bulldogs' weekly schedule.
Due to unplayable field conditions, Tuesday's opener with UMass Lowell has been postponed and will be made up at a later date. Bryant filled the opening in its schedule with Northeastern and will travel to Boston to face the Huskies on Wednesday, March 19. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
Due to the changes made this week, Bryant's schedule will also change down the road. Next Tuesday's (March 25) road game at UMass Lowell has been switched to Conaty Park at 3:00 p.m. and will be the home opener. Bryant's April 30 meeting with Northeastern has also been changed to Conaty Park and will begin at 3:00 p.m.
Bryant's weekend series with Delaware has also changed. The Bulldogs and Blue Hens will play their series at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Md., due to construction at the UD campus. Game one will be played on Friday, March 21 and the two teams will wrap up the series with a doubleheader on Saturday. First pitch on Friday is at 3:00 p.m. and Saturday's twinbill begins at 1:00 p.m.
