Koocher joins the Bulldog staff for the 2010 season after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at Wheaton College. While coaching at his alma mater, Koocher helped lead the Lyons to two conference championships and two New England regional appearances, working with the hitters and running the team's offense as the third base coach.
A 2006 graduate of Wheaton, Koocher finished with a .356 career batting average and .985 fielding percentage in 113 games. During his four years as a player, the Lyons won four New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular-season crowns and made a trio of NCAA tournament appearances. He capped off his senior year with a New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-New England Second Team selection and was selected to appear in the NEIBA All-Star Game at Fenway Park.
In addition to his recruiting responsibilities, Koocher will
work primarily with the Bulldogs hitters, and he will help direct
the team's offense as the third base coach.
