Bryant Crew Team's Race this past Weekend

Saturday April 14th, 2012:

WN4+:  The race started with four boats... Clark, Bryant, Endicott A, & Endicott B.  By the time the first 500m was over, Clark and Bryant were battling it out with both the Endicott boats far behind.  In the end, the Clark boat would go on to beat Bryant, however Clark's lineup contained varsity rowers, which makes Bryant the winner of the novice event!  The crew consisted of Katie Curran, Amy D'Olympia, Chika Okoro, & Rachel Goroff and was coxed by Kayla Hixon.

WN8:  The day started with two rowers informing me that someone was sick and one was unable to row.  All that week the boat had practiced with a bucket rig and Nicola was to be stroking the boat in the race.  Unfortunately Nicola was the rower unable to row.  Very quickley we needed to swap out the bucket rigging and go back to port rig with a completely different lineup.  The race started well but eventually the rate got the best of us again and Merrimack powered through.  It should be pointed out that our women made the best of a stressful situation and learned valuable information for what to do if something like this happens again.  The crew consisted of Marybeth Wallander, Casey Smith, Sarah Dziadzio, Jasmine Torok, Linda Dueri, Helena Zakon, Kristen Carroll, & Alicia Kennedy and coxed by Michelle Ly.

Next Saturday the Crew team will head to Lowell for some early morning racing.
