Football Honors Continue To Roll In As Perry Receives All-New England Award During Awards Banquet Dec. 8

Perry Named To All-New England Team

RANDOLPH, Mass. - Honors continue to roll in following Bryant University's most successful football season in school history as junior running back Lorenzo Perry (Providence, RI) was named to the Division II/III All-New England squad during the annual New England Football Writers Banquet Dec. 8 at Latana's Restaurant in Randolph, MA.  Perry helped guide the Bulldogs to a 7-3 record in 2005 and a regional ranking for the first time in the program's history.

Perry, a first-team all-conference selection, rushed for a school-record 1,335 yards in nine games for the Bulldogs last season, scoring 16 rushing touchdowns and adding one receiving TD.  He had 24 catches for 249 yards.

After recording 87 yards in the opener against AIC, Perry had a breakout game a week later at Assumption, rushing for 221 yards on 27 carries and adding three scores.  A week later, Perry went over the 100-yard mark again with 122 against Pace.

The highlight of his season came in a win over Stonehill on Oct. 8 where he rushed for a school record 313 yards and two touchdowns.  His 313 yards were the fourth-best all-time in Northeast-10 Conference history.

The transfer from UMass Amherst would go over the 100-yard mark three more times before the end of the season, running for 137 against Becker, 198 in a win over Bentley, and 169 in the season finale at Southern Connecticut.
