BRYANT FOOTBALL RANKED NO. 10 IN NCAA NORTHEAST REGIONAL POLL;
BULLDOGS HOST STONEHILL SATURDAY

SMITHFIELD, RI – The Bryant University football team is currently ranked No. 10 in the latest NCAA Division II Northeast Regional poll released Monday.  This is the first time in the program’s history that the Bulldogs have been ranked regionally.

The Bulldogs, under the direction of second year coach Marty Fine, are 3-2 on the season entering Saturday’s home game with Northeast-10 Conference opponent Stonehill College at Bulldog Stadium.

The Skyhawks are currently in third place in the conference standings at 3-1, just ahead of the Bulldogs who enter Saturday’s game in fourth place at 3-2.  Bryant owns a 5-1 all-time series record against the Skyhawks, including last year’s 31-6 win in Easton, Mass.

Bryant is led by junior running back Lorenzo Perry (Providence, RI). The former standout at La Salle is averaging 117 yards rushing per game and has seven touchdowns on the season (6 rushing, 1 receiving).  Senior linebacker Greg Daniel, also of Providence and La Salle, leads the Bulldogs with 46 total tackles including a career-best 16 tackles last week vs. C.W. Post that tied a school record for tackles in a game.

Kickoff at Bulldog Stadium Saturday is 1 pm.
