Football Adds Five Recruits For Fall of 2006; Brings Total Number of Recruits to 24

BRYANT FOOTBALL SIGNS FIVE ADDITIONAL STUDENT-ATHLETES TO LETTERS OF INTENT

SMITHFIELD, RI – Bryant University head football coach Marty Fine has announced the signing of five additional student-athletes to the 19 student-athletes the university signed in February.  Bryant will begin spring practice at the end of the month with the annual Black & Gold Spring Game scheduled for Saturday, April 22.  

Saul Garcia                 OL, 6-3, 260, 
North Bergen, NJ
Four-year letterwinner in football at North Bergen High School … Helped lead team to No. 1 ranking in North Jersey Group IV. 

David Gould               WR, 6-2, 200,
Bridgeton, NJ
(right) Helped lead Delsea Regional High School in Franklinville, NJ to State Group Three Championship and Tri-County Royal Division title … Team went 12-0 overall … Had 19 receptions for 435 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Kurt Spear                  QB, 6-2, 197, Greene, NY
Four-year starter and three-year team captain … Lettered in baseball, football, and basketball at Greene Central School … Holds all of school's single season and career passing records … Third Team All-State quarterback … All-County selection and voted team MVP … Member of student council … Class President.

Standout at Cathedral High School in Boston … Two-time Eastern Massachusetts All-Star in football in 2004 and 2005 … Team's Defensive MVP … Central Catholic Small League All-Star in football, basketball, and track … All-State selection in Basketball in 2003-04 … Student of the Year recipient … National Honor Society.
