GUNTHER TIES RECORD FOR SINGLE SEASON SACKS
Bryant University junior defensive end Mark Gunther (Clarksburg, NJ) registered three quarterback sacks this past Saturday in Bryant's 41-0 win over Saint Anselm at Bulldog Stadium.  The three sacks give's Gunther nine sacks for the season, tying former standout Ben Wellington who had nine in 2002.  Gunther, who picked up eight sacks last season, now has a total of 18 for his career and needs just two more sacks to become the all-time career sacks leader, passing Wellington's mark of 19.5 set between the 1999 and 2002 seasons.

BULLDOGS DROP A SPOT DESPITE WIN
The Bulldogs dropped a spot to fifth in the NCAA Northeast Regional Rankings this week, despite winning 41-0 to improve to 6-2 overall.  The big mover was Southern Connecticut which jumped all the way from No. 6 to No. 3 following its win over C.W. Post last Friday night.  C.W. Post dropped a spot to No. 4 following the loss.  Looking at the road ahead, Southern Connecticut has a road game at Stonehill and hosts Saint Anselm while C.W. Post will host AIC this weekend before traveling to Merrimack.  Bryant will be idle this week before traveling to Bentley No. 4.
