THIS WEEK
Bryant returns to action Saturday hosting Assumption College for a 1 p.m. Northeast-10 Conference game at Bulldog Stadium.  Bryant (2-1, 2-1 NE-10) is coming off a 34-7 win over conference foe Merrimack College last Saturday on Homecoming & Reunion Weekend at Bryant.  Senior tailback Lorenzo Perry (Providence, RI) had 233 yards rushing to lead the Bulldogs.  Assumption (2-1, 2-1 NE-10) won its second in-a-row last Friday night, defeating Saint Anselm 26-23.  This will be the eighth meeting between Bryant and Assumption with the Bulldogs winning all previous seven meetings.  Saturday's game will be broadcast live online with Free audio available courtesy of Stretch Internet.  Video broadcast of the game can be found at NE10.tv.  John McCarthy calls the action with Bryant junior Patrick Sullivan providing the color commentary.  Bryant is 2-0 at home this year and have won seven-straight at Bulldog Stadium dating back to last season.

PERRY DELIGHTS HOMECOMING FANS WITH A DAZZLING 233 YARDS
Behind the elusive running of senior tailback Lorenzo Perry the Bulldogs rolled to a 34-7 win over visiting Merrimack College last Saturday before a homecoming crowd of 4,854 at a sun-drenched Bulldog Stadium.  Perry rushed for 233 yards on 21 carries, the fourth-best single-game rushing performance in school history.
Leading 14-7 at the half, Bryant stretched its lead to 21-7 thanks to a 74 yard interception return for a touchdown by junior safety Chris Wolhlheter (Newark, OH).  Wohlheter, who had a 75-yard interception return in the season opener against Southern Connecticut, picked off a Warrior pass early in the third quarter and made several nifty moves down the Bryant sideline for the score.  From there, it was all Bulldogs as Perry scored on a six-yard run to cap a 7-play, 99-yard drive by Bryant to make it 27-7 and would add another 10-yard touchdown score early in the fourth.
Charles Granatell (Franklin Lakes, NJ) was 12 for 17 passing for 131 yards and had two touchdown passes.
The Bulldogs struck first as Granatell found Joey Brito (Pawtucket, RI) on the third play of the Bulldogs second drive of the game for a short completion. But Brito was able to turn the corner and break free down the Merrimack sideline for a 49-yard score.
Merrimack  would answer right back as Mike Young scored from a yard out to cap a 7-play drive for the Warriors and tie the game at 7-7 with 8:18 left in the first.  Young, who had 94 yards on 19 carries in the game, carried the ball four times on the scoring drive.  However, that would be all the scoring on the day for the Warriors as the Bryant defense limited Merrimack to 319 yards of total offense including 150 yards on the ground.
Chris Arnold (Wyckoff, NJ) had four catches for 33 yards for the Bulldogs, including a 10-yard touchdown reception from Granatell with only six seconds left before halftime, giving the Bulldogs a lead they would not relinquish.

THE BULLDOGS VS. GREYHOUNDS
This will be the eighth meeting all-time between Bryant and Assumption with the Bulldogs winning all seven games in the series dating back to 1999 - Bryant's first varsity season.   Last year's matchup turned into an offensive shootout with Lorenzo Perry rushing for a 221 yards and three touchdowns in Bryant's 48-38 win in Worcester, Mass.  Assumption's last visit to Smithfield, RI was back in 2004 that saw Bryant roll to a 24-6 win on a rainy Homecoming.

THE GREYHOUNDS OF ASSUMPTION COLLEGE
Assumption, under the direction of second-year coach Corey Bailey,
brings a two-game win streak into Saturday's game with the Bulldogs thanks to wins over Stonehill (16-3) and Saint Anselm (26-23).  Last week against the Hawks, senior running back Kevin L'Ecuyer rushed for a career-high 105 yards on 32 carries and had a pair of touchdown for the Greyhounds.  L'Ecuyer has 273 yards rushing in three games this season for a 91.0 yards per game average.  Saint Anselm led 10-6 but three-yard touchdown run by L'Ecuyer put the hosts ahead for good with 2:45 left before halftime.  Quarterback Joe Correia has completed 46 of 89 passes for 582 yards and has thrown four interceptions.  Jake Longnecker has been his primary target, catching 14 passes for 181 yards.

BRYANT'S GOLDEN BOY
Senior tailback Lorenzo Perry was named the Northeast-10 Conference Offensive Player of the Week back on Sept. 5 after rushing for 190 yards and four touchdowns in the Bulldogs' win over Southern Connecticut in the season-opener. In addition, Perry was named the Boston Globe Gold Helmet winner as the Division II Player of the Week in New England by the New England College Football Writers.  Perry is the first football player at Bryant to win the Gold Helmet Award.

WOHLHETER MAKES LIKE A RECEIVER
Although he lines up on the defensive side of the field, free safety Chris Wohlheter of Newark, Ohio has looked more like a receiver for the Bulldogs.  Wohlheter, the conference defensive player of the week back in Week 1 thanks to a school-record 75-yard interception return against Southern Connecticut, had a repeat performance last Saturday against Merrimack.  The junior picked off a Colin Temple pass and returned it 74 yards only this time found the end zone, giving Bryant a 21-7 lead in the third quarter.
