THREE FOOTBALL PLAYERS EARN ALL-ACADEMIC HONORS BY THE NE-10
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - The Bryant University football team placed three players on the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic team the league office announced this week. Earning Academic All-Conference honors for the second consecutive year are senior wide receiver Sean Bergin (New Windsor, NY), junior punter Brian Donnelly (East Dennis, Mass.) and senior defensive back Marcus Lindsey (Bridgeport, Conn.)
To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: participated in at least half of the team's competitions and either be a starter or significant contributor, achieved at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, and completed at least one academic year.
Bergin leads the Bulldogs this year with 29 receptions for 485
yards and has three touchdowns on the season. Donnelly enters
the Southern Connecticut game averaging 38.1 yards per punt.
The junior has punted 37 times this season for 1,408 yards and a
long of 57 yards. Lindsey, a co-captain, leads the team with
58 total tackles this season. He has four tackles for a loss
and one interception on the year.
