 Postgame notes from Saturday's game at Fordham

  • - Bryant saw its two game win streak come to an end Saturday with a 35-7 loss at Fordham
  • - Jerell Smith (Brooklyn, NY) had 86 yards rushing on 19 carries as Fordham held Bryant to just 219 total yards in the game
  • - Jordan Brown (Glastonbury, CT) returned five kickoffs for 93 yards. The freshman returned a first quarter kickoff 44 yards to the Fordham 47 yard line
  • - Mike Croce (Waterbury, CT) threw a 28-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter to Iona transfer Tim Mastrino (Elmhurst, IL). It was Croce's seventh TD of the season
  • - Sophomore Samad Wagstaff (New Rochelle, NY) picked up his first interception of the season in the second quarter inside the Fordham 20 yard line. It was Wagstaff's sixth career interception. Bryant is now 1-1 on the road this season
  • - The Bulldogs were just 1-for-3 inside the Fordham redzone and have scored 11 of 17 times this season (64.7 percent) when inside the 20 yard line.
  • - Smith and Lindsey Gamble (Roxbury, MA) are No. 3 and No. 4 respectively on the school's all-time rushing attempts list. Smith currently stands just 12 rushing attempts behind Gamble with 425 rushing attempts.
  • - After going three and out on their first drive of the game, Bryant went to Mike Canfora (Verona, NJ) a little more on the second as the junior keyed the drive with 26 yards on the ground. The drive came to an end on a missed field goal attempt by Chris Bird.
  • - Wagstaff's first interception of the season puts Bryant inside the red zone for the first night with 5:30 remaining in the first half. Bryant goes for it on 4th down from the 15 yard line... incomplete pass in the end zone intended for Pritchard
  • - Fordham touchdown just before the end of the half with 26 seconds left, scoring on a fake quarterback sneak from a yard out as Rams QB John Skelton stepped back and threw it to an open tight end for a 1-yard score.
  • - Fordham running back Xavier Martin went over 100 yards after only 13 carries 1 TD
  • - Jerell Smith help get things going in the third, highlighting a drive with a big run for 20 yards with 10 minutes remaining.
  • - Mike Croce connected with Matt Tracey for 17 yards to put the Bulldogs inside the 10 yard line for first time in the game with 8:30 left in the 3rd. Bryant fumbles in the end zone (Jerell) recovered by Fordham for touchback
  • - Senior linebacker Aaron Bryant blocked a Fordham punt with 4:40 left in the 3rd quarter recovered by Manny Frangiadakis on the Fordham 29
  • - Facing a fourth-and-23, Croce throws 28-yard TD to Iona transfer Tim Mastrino (Elmhurst, IL) with a minute remaining in the third quarter.
  • - Fordham answers by returning the kickoff 58 yards.
