SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The preseason honors continue to roll in for senior Jordan Harris (Lincoln University, Pa.) and junior Jeff Covitz (Reading, Mass.) as both were recognized as Preseason All-Americans by different publications over the last two weeks.
Harris was named a Second Steam Preseason All-American by The Sports Network, while Harris and Covitz were both named Preseason All-Americans by Beyond Sports Network.
The reigning Northeast Conference Offensive Player of the Year, Harris enters his final season in Smithfield as the most feared receiver in the league. He has already set Bryant school records for most catches in a season and a career, most receiving yards in a season and a career and most touchdown receptions in a season and a career. Thanks to an outstanding junior campaign, Harris has his eyes set on the NEC receiving record, needing just 761 yards to move into first place.
Covitz enters his junior year having played in all 22 games in his first seasons in Smithfield. He enjoyed his finest season last fall when he collected 58 tackles, a league-leading 17 tackles for a loss and eight sacks. Covitz finished 11th in the country in tackles for a loss and was named First Team All-NEC and All-New England.
The Bulldogs open the 2013 season on Saturday, August 31 when they welcome Holy Cross to Bulldog Stadium.
