Bryant Battles but Falls to St. Michael?s, 1-0
COLCHESTER, VT - The Bryant University field hockey team fought hard but fell to Northeast-10 conference foe St. Michael?s Saturday 1-0.
In game dominated by defense, the Bulldogs star was once again senior goalkeeper Kristen Patat (Portsmouth, NH). Patat made six big saves for the Bulldogs and kept them in the game the best she could.
Neither team could generate many quality-scoring chances in the first half, as Saint Michael?s held a 5-3 advantage in shots. The hosts dictated the tempo throughout much of the second half, as the Purple Knights recorded seven penalty corners in the period to just three for the Bulldogs.
The scoreless tie was broken in the second half when Hannah Wolfe scored with six minutes left to give the Purple Knights the 1-0 win.
Bryant (1-3, 0-2 NE-10) will return home to host UMass Lowell Thursday, September 9 at the Bryant Field Hockey Complex. Game time is set for 4:00pm.
