Bryant Scores on First Shot of the Season and Beats Mansfield

The Bulldogs scored on their first shot of the season when O?Brien had unassisted goal 38 seconds into the game. The goal was one of many for the Bulldogs in the game.

The Bulldogs first goal by O?Brien, was scored off the opening drive when she carried the ball through the Mansfield defense and past the goalkeeper.

The Bryant defense was tough allowing only 10 shots. The Bulldog ?D? was led by senior co-captains Kristen Patat, (Portsmouth, NH) who had five saves, and Jamie Wall (Sharon, Mass.)

Mansfield lone goal came in the second half when senior Alissa Gallagher scored past Patat with 32:51 remaining in the second half.

Bryant?s other goals were scored by sophomore Shannon Libman, (Attleboro, Mass.) freshmen Molly Burt, (Hopesdale, Mass) and Lisa Kennen (Waltham, Mass.). Bryant got two assists on the day one from sophomore Laynie Sadler (Rehoboth, Mass) on the Burt goal and one by freshman Krissy Levis (Andover, Mass.) on one of the Tavella goals.

Bryant will return action Sunday August 29 when they play Bloomsburg at the Bryant Field Hockey Complex. The game is set for an 11:00am start.
