Bryant Plays Tough But Losses to Bloomsburg

SMITHFIELD, RI ? The Bryant University Field Hockey team played tough but loss to the defending national champions Bloomsburg Huskies today by of score of 6-0.

Bryant came out tough in the first half hanging with the Huskies for he first 20 minutes of the game. The teams battled back-and-forth in each other ends until Bloomsburg first goal was put in by Morgan Wolf off an assist by Sharla Partlon with 16:13 remaining in the first half.

Bloomsburg would go one to score three more goals in the half. They scored on a pair of unassisted goals by Kristi Ney and another goal by Sharla Partlon who got an assist from Morgon Wolf.

The second half Bloomsburg only had 2 goals thanks to a great effort by freshman goalkeeper Kasey Kortz (Louisville, KY) who had 18 saves on the day, 14 in the second half.

Bloomsburg second half goals were both scored by Kristi Kropa one off an assist from Marie Zorzi.

The Bulldog defense once again played tough behind senior Jamie Wall (Sharon, Mass.) and Kortz but they could not pull a win out.

Bryant University returns to action Wednesday September 1st when they travel to Assumption in their first Northeast-10 game of the year. The game is set for a 4:00p.m. start.
