Bryant Beats Franklin Pierce 2-1

RINDGE, NH ? The Bryant University field hockey beat Franklin Pierce College 2-1 in game played today in Rindge, NH.

Bryant (4-6) got on the board early as sophomore Michaela Dwyer (Buskirk, N.Y./) notched her second goal of the season with 29:55 remaining in the first half. Junior Maureen Burns (Derry, N.H.) and sophomore Kristen Tighe (North Easton, Mass.) were credited with assists on the goal.

The Ravens battled back to tie the score at one at the 24:33 mark in the first half, as sophomore Angela Barone fired a shot past the Bryant goalkeeper.

The Bulldogs game-winning goal came with 33:56 remaining in the second half on an unassisted goal by freshman Courtney O?Brien (Tewksbury, Mass.) who blasted a shot passed the Ravens goalkeeper.

Senior goalkeeper Kristen Patat (Portsmouth, NH) and freshman goalkeeper Kasey Kortz (Louisville, Ky.) split time in net. Kortz stopped all six shots that she faced in the second half and earned her first collegiate victory.

Bryant next game will be Sunday September 26 when they host C.W. Post at the Bryant Field Hockey Complex. Game time is set for 2:00pm.
