Bryant University field hockey drops its NE-10 Conference opener to UMass Lowell 3-1
Smithfield, RI - The Bryant University field hockey team dropped their NE-10 Conference opener on Wednesday to UMass Lowell 3-1. The Bulldogs drop to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference. Bryant will travel to American International on Saturday with a noon start time.
Senior tri-captain Maureen Burns (Derry, NH) scored the Bulldogs lone goal with 13:40 left in the second half.
UMass Lowell junior Sara Hohenberger (Windham, MA) scored all three goals for the River Hawks with assists from senior captains Joanna DaLuze (Harwich, MA) and Courtney Hill (Newburyport, MA).
Bulldog goalkeeper Marie Grant (Weston, MA) compiled five saves while River Hawk keeper Nicole Saiti (Barre, MA) had three saves.
Bryant returns to action on Saturday, at noon, when they will visit American International for a NE-10 match.
