Field Hockey's Tighe Named an ECAC All-Star
CAPE COD, MASS. - Defender Kristin Tighe (North Easton, Mass.) is one of 12 players that were named to the 2006 Division II ECAC Field Hockey All-Star Roster. Tighe had four assists this year while starting all 21 games, with all of her assists coming as the key stopper on corner plays. Rising to the challenge of anchoring the left side, she was one of the most tenacious and consistent defenders in the NE-10.

Sadler and Tighe Named Second Team All-Americans
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Senior defender Kristin Tighe and forward Laynie Sadler have been named Second-Team All-Americans after an outstanding 2006 season. Sadler led Bryant with 16 goals and 12 assists, while Tighe rose to the challenge of anchoring the left side of the Bulldogs' defense and was one of the most tenacious and consistent defenders in the NE-10.

Field Hockey's Season Ends in 2-1 Loss to St. Michael's in Conference Quarterfinals
COLCHESTER, VT. - The Bryant University Field Hockey team's season came to end Wednesday afternoon, as the No. 4 seed St. Michael's defeated the Bulldogs 2-1 in the Northeast-10 Quarterfinals at Colchester, VT. Co-captain Laynie Sadler evened the match at one, tying the game in the 54th minute with her 16th of the season, but the Purple Knights pulled ahead for good in the 58th minute. Bryant, ranked tenth nationally, finishes its season 11-10 (9-7 NE-10).

Field Hockey Ready for St. Michael's in Quarterfinals Wednesday
COLCHESTER, VT. - The Bryant Field Hockey team, ranked fifth in the Northeast-10 Conference, will face-off against fourth-ranked St. Michael's Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the Northeast-10 Quarterfinals. The winner will play top-ranked Stonehill Saturday at 11 a.m. in the NE-10 Semifinals. The Bulldogs (11-9, 9-7 NE-10) are ranked tenth in this week's STX/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll.

Field Hockey Downs AIC 4-3; Bulldogs Seeded Fifth in NE-10 Tournament
SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - Laynie Sadler scored twice and Courtney O'Brien and Michaela Dwyer each added a goal as the Bryant Field Hockey team defeated American Internation 4-3 Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Bulldogs clinched fifth place in the Northeast-10. Bryant will head to fourth-seeded St. Michael's Wednesday (2 p.m.) for the NE-10 Quarterfinals.

RINDGE, N.H. - Shana Libman scored her sixth goal of the season, but it was not enough as the Bulldogs fell to Franklin Pierce 2-1 Thursday night in Rindge, N.H. The Bulldogs visit AIC Saturday at noon, before the Northeast-10 Tournament begins on November 1st.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University Field Hockey team played its heart out Tuesday night but they couldn't escape with an upset victory over fifth-ranked Stonehill. The Skyhawks won it with 1:30 remaining in double-overtime 2-1.

Sadler and Tighe Named to NFHCA All-Star Game
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Seniors Laynie Sadler and Kristin Tighe have been selected to participate in the 2006 Division II NFHCA North/South All-Star Game. The game will be played on November 18th, 2006 at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. at 5:30 p.m. Bulldog seniors Michaela Dwyer and Deanne Viveiros were selected as alternates to the roster.

Johnson Scores Her 3rd Goal with no Time Remaining For 4-3 Win
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Freshman Caitlan Johnson scored her third goal of the season with no time remaining to give the Bulldogs the thrilling 4-3 victory over Southern Connecticut State Wednesday afternoon. Laynie Sadler and Caitlan Johnson combined for all four goals, and Sadler set up each of Johnson's tallies, all on corners.

WALTHAM, MASS - Freshman Caitlan Johnson scored her fifth goal of the season but it wasn't enough as the Bulldogs lost to #2 Bentley 3-1 Tuesday night in Waltham. Bryant will visit St. Anselm Thursday (3:30 p.m.) before hosting #8 UMass-Lowell Saturday (7 p.m.) at the Bulldog Turf Complex.

The Bulldogs fired 11 shots, including five by Shana Libman, but could not put one past Falcons goaltender Alyssa Sliney.

Freshmen Ashley Rebello scored the game-winning goal, while freshman Caitlan Johnson scored her team-leading third goal. The Bulldogs return home Saturday against Franklin Pierce (7 p.m.).

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Caitlan Johnson scored two goals and Laynie Sadler added a goal and two assists as the Bryant Field Hockey Team snapped a three-game losing streak, defeating American International 5-0. The Bulldogs dominated the affair, outshooting the Yellow Jackets 27-1.

Field Hockey Returns with Valuable Experience and Advice from Argentina
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant Field Hockey team spent nine days in August in Buenos Aires, Argentina competing against some stiff competition. Not only sdid the team improve from the trip but the players also came back with insight about the South American culture and about their own players, specifically the incoming freshmen.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Despite the oustanding play of goaltender Kundayi Mawema, the Bryant Field Hockey team dropped its opener 4-0 to Bloomsburg at the Bryant Turf Complex. Mawema made 20 saves against the Huskies.

Field Hockey Picked to Finish Seventh in Preseason NE-10 Poll
SMITHFIELD, RI- Looking to rebound off a ninth-place finish in the Northeast-10 in 2005, the Bryant University field hockey team was voted to finish seventh, in a preseason coaches poll. The Bryant field hockey team welcomes back a core of solid, experienced players as well as some highly touted newcomers. The Bulldogs open their 2006 campaign on Saturday, September 2 vs. Bloomsburg.
