Field Hockey Announces Class of 2011

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University field hockey team welcomes seven newcomers to the squad for the 2007 season. Their home opener is September 10th vs Merrimack at 7 p.m. at the Bulldog Turf Complex. The Bulldogs finished 2006 with a 11-10 (9-7 NE-10) record.

Brandie Simmonds: Before Bryant: Lead Greenfield High School to League and Western Mass... Championship as a senior... Best of 60 participant and best offensive award in 2006... Participated in 2005 National Tournament... All-scholastic... Owns school record for 200m and 4x100 relay... Personal: Born Sept... 8, 1988 in Shelburne, Mass... Daughter of Tim and Beth Simmonds.

Meg Atha: Before Bryant: All-League and All-Rockland County selection at Nyack High School in both field hockey and lacrosse... Selected to participate at National Field Hockey Olympic Development Camp... Four-year varsity member of Nyack's field hockey team and three-year member of lacrosse team... Personal: Megan Blair Atha was born on April 28, 1989 in Valley Cottage, N.Y... Daughter of Peter and Michelle Atha.

Toby Maltz: Before Bryant: Led Andover High School to three MVC Conference Championships... Best of 60 participant... Captain as a senior... Two-time all-conference... High honor student...Personal: Toby Beth Maltz is the daughter of Don and Amy Maltz and was born in Newton, MA.

Kristina Aceto: Before Bryant: Four-year starter at South Portland High School... Led team to quarterfinals as a captain and MVP her senior year... Played in all-state field hockey game... Also played softball... Basketball and indoor track... All-Conference first-team selection for softball... Personal: Kristina Marie Aceto was born on December 11, 1988 in Portland, ME... She is the daughter of Rocco and Cathy Aceto.

Brittany Glenn: Before Bryant: Three-year starter and four-year member at the Williston Northampton School... Led team to three winning seasons... Captain as a senior in both field hockey and lacrosse... Played lacrosse all four years... Personal: Brittany Nicole Glenn was born on August 9, 1989 in Easthampton, MA and is the daughter of Norman and Gail Glenn.

Alex Guisti: Before Bryant: Led Walpole High School to two State Championships, including a 17-0-1 season her senior year...1^st team All-Star...Best of 60 participant...Most improved award winner in 2006...Also played lacrosse, hockey and basketball...Team MVP and Conference All-Star in lacrosse in 2006...Personal: Alexandra L. Guisti was born on May 24, 1989 in Walpole, MA. She is the daughter of Karen Drummey and Bill Guisti.

Julie Kuchyt: Before Bryant: Led Smith Academy to an undefeated league championship in 2005...UMass Champs State Finalist in 2003...Three-time All-League All-Star...Two-time Western Mass All-Star...Personal: Julie Elizabeth Kuchyt was born on February 9, 1989 in Northampton, MA. She is the daughter of Gary Kuchyt and Melinda Martin.
