SMITHFIELD, RI -- Sophomore midfielder Caitlan Johnson (Walpole, Mass.) capped off a stellar 2007 season Monday afternoon when she was named to the ECAC Division II All-Star team, becoming the Bryant University field hockey team's lone representative and one of 10 Northeast-10 Conference players to garner ECAC All-Star honors.
Johnson, who has earned starts in every game of her Bulldog career, netted four goals in 2007, including a pair of game winners against Merrimack College and Assumption College. She also recorded six helpers on the year and tallied 27 shots on goal.
The Bryant squad was ranked as high as No. 4 in 2007 and ended the year with a 12-8 record. Johnson was one of three Bulldogs to be named an All-Conference Selection and one of two, along with senior forward Courtney O'Brien (Tewksbury, Mass.), to earn First Team honors.
The 2007 Bulldogs finished their season in late October,
dropping a Northeast-10 Tournament Quarterfinal matchup to Saint
Anselm, 3-1.
