BRYANT FIELD HOCKEY DEFEATS STONEHILL 1-0 SATURDAY

EASTON, Mass. -  Julie Kuchyt's goal late in the first half proved to be the difference as the eighth-ranked Bryant University field hockey team picked up a big 1-0 win over seventh-ranked Stonehill Saturday.  The win moves the Bulldogs into third place in the Northeast-10 Conference standings and completes a season sweep of the Skyhawks.  Bryant won the first meeting 2-1 in Smithfield, RI back on Sept. 15. 

Kuchyt's goal, her sixth of the season, came on a penalty corner in the 30th minute as the Bulldogs got a big game from goalie Kundayi Mawema.  Mawema turned back 14 shots in the game as the Bulldogs were out-shot by the hosts 16 to six.   

Bryant will travel to Saint Anselm on Tuesday afternoon.
