BRYANT FIELD HOCKEY GARNERS TWO WEEKLY NE-10 AWARDS

SMITHFIELD, RI - Winners of five straight including last Saturday's 2-1 win over second-ranked Stonehill at the Turf Complex, the accolades are starting to trickle in for the Bryant field hockey squad.
On Monday, Kundayi Mawema (Hare, Zimbabwe) and Julie Kuchyt (Hatfield, Mass.) were named Northeast-10 Goalkeeper and Freshman of the Week respectively.
Mawema notched three wins between the pipes last week including a six-save shutout win against Saint Anselm last Wednesday.
The sophomore made 10 saves in the team's win over Stonehill giving her 22 saves for the week while allowing just three goals.
Kuchyt, a freshman midfielder, scored three goals and had a pair of assists for the Bulldogs. In addition to notching her first career hat trick in the team's win over Saint Anselm, she played a key role in the team's win over Stonehill on Saturday.
The Bulldogs travel to AIC for a 7 p.m. game on Thursday.
