Bryant, which begins its move to Division I play in the 2008-09 season, is coming off a strong 2007-08 campaign in which the Bulldogs posted a 12-8 overall record and went 12-4 in the Northeast-10 Conference.

"I am exceptionally excited to have these six women join the tradition of excellence we have established for our Bryant Field Hockey program," said Fichera. "Each of them is an outstanding student-athlete as well as an active leader in their community, and we are eager to have them bring their commitment to the character of success to our University community.

"This is our first Division I recruiting class, and as a class and individuals they are extremely balanced, which is ideal for the exceptional demands of being a Division I student-athlete. I am looking forward to having all of them contribute immediately in our transition to Division I field hockey and throughout their four-year careers as we continue to build upon our tradition of excellence that comes with wearing the black and gold."
